Power Control scoops DCS Award for UPS solution at our debut site
During a glamorous gala dinner held at Leonardo Royal St. Paul’s Hotel last week, we were thrilled to join Sam Rea of Power Control in accepting a prestigious Data Centre Solutions (DCS) award in the category of New Design/Build Project of the Year for the design, delivery and installation of a UPS solution for our discovery centre and demonstration site in Lincoln.
Presented with a design brief of supplying a fully-modular uninterruptable power supply across two strings, and with full redundancy in all areas, Power Control went where other UPS suppliers had failed to go in providing us with a solution that would meet the requirements of our innovative, energy efficient design.
We would like to thank everyone who voted for the project and look forward to working with Power Control on other projects.
Energy efficiency Certification: CEEDA Gold
Our commitment to making the data centre world more cool has also been recognised by CEEDA – the energy efficiency assessment framework – which has certified the design stage of our Lincoln Discovery Centre with Gold-level certification. There are fewer than 20 data centres which hold gold-level certification globally.
We are immensely proud of this achievement, the outcome of the persistence and tenacity of our CEO, Tim Chambers, who – supported by Geoffrey Falconer – has worked tirelessly to bring his vision of a more energy efficient and sustainable data centre to fruition.
