Rebecca joined coolDC as an intern in 2019, straight after completing a BEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lincoln.
Although she knew nothing about the data centre industry when she first came to visit us, Rebecca is now employed full-time and looks after the mechanical equipment at our Lincoln Discovery Centre.
Underpinned via months of hands-on experience, supplemented with manufacturer training, Rebecca has been able to write the procedure documents for how our equipment is set up and maintained day-to-day. Her confidence has been boosted further following the completion of her BTEC Level 4 Certified Data Centre Technician Professional training.
“Working as part of a team has helped foster a family environment at coolDC. This allows for everyone to gain skills in areas outside their knowledge whilst supporting each other”.
Rebecca is particularly interested in sustainability and the environment. Although aware that the data centre industry has a significant energy and carbon footprint, she enjoys being part of a company specifically motivated by reducing its environmental impact.
Rebecca is a STEM ambassador and would like to help others into the industry, especially underrepresented groups.
